The City of Redmond has commissioned contemporary artist Johanna Porter and animator Max Hess to co-create an animated short film for the annual REDMOND LIGHTS event. It was screened nightly, 4-9pm, at Buoyant Theater in Redmond Downtown Park, from Dec. 1 , 2021 - Jan. 5, 2022.

“The Light of Things”, an animated motion graphics short film, will focus on the principle that Unity is found in Diversity. The natural beauty of Redmond and its diverse cultures are my inspiration for this film. My deepest wish is to visually convey that group action can shift our paths towards a brighter future.
